Default V.I.N. #........?????????

Remember the debate about my V.I.N. #? The missing "S"?
Well, I got my Vette back yesterday and ALMOST the first thing I did was look at the V.I.N. #on the car. Guess what? There is a BIG "S" where the 8 is on my title. Typo....haha. Electron Blue `02 said it would be there. "1Z8789S401649"
Now then, Do I try to get it corrected on my title or just leave well enough alone? :skep:
I also checked the plate inside the driver's side......this is what it says........Chevorlet B08........trim 592.......loL paint
Does that mean anything?

It would be no problem in NC, but I dont know how TN handles those things.

I would get it corrected to prevent any problems in the future, of course that's me.

Your car was built Sept 8, 1978, 592=Light Beige Leather, 10L=Classic White(the original color of your car)
Your car is an early '79 being #01649 out of 53,807 1979 Corvettes produced.

My car is currently titled in PA and also has a recognized typo. It has been insured and title in PA, MT, SD, and IA, sometimes with the typo and other times without. The VIN should be 1Z37L2S5XXXXX. Mine is 1Z37LS25XXXXX. The "2" and the "L" are switched.

Gary
ps, leave it alone.

That was elementary. I had a similar problem with a '69 I had, and just
had DMV change it so I wouldn't have a problem when I sold it.
Quick and easy
Just do it !

I have had a similar problem on both my 71 and my 80. The "S" in the middle of the VIN was mistaken for a 5. In Louisiana the DMV requires a physical inpection by a law enforcment officer to file for the new title. I waited for a state trooper but that was useless. Took them down to the local police dept. and had an officer do the inspection. I got them corrected just incase, but the 71 had been incorrect for decades.
