Glass break sensors, do they work?
In the quest for building the most untouchable car, I have plans to expand my car alarm to detect interior motion and glass breakage. The sensor available detects the sound frequency of breaking glass. Does this type of sensor work? Will this thing go off everytime someone drops a 40 bottle on the sidewalk? :lolg:

Mine has that but I think it works on pressure. I can't tell you much except I put it in, set the sensitivity and went out and beat on the windows until it went off. The neighbors and the dog were very entertained.
I also have the radar sensor so one or the other is bound to set the thing off as the thief drives away in the car. :D

Yes.
Shattering glass is about 3,000 hz, and these glassbreak sensors are quite good at hearing it. I actually had bells on the doors at work and they were setting the glassbreak sensor off.
The glassbreak sensors at my work are set off by a combination of air movement and sound.
