STS baffle "cap" questions...
I ordered a 3 1/2" set from Jim on Sat.
(There going under factory 65 side pipe covers)
I have sent him so many e-mails, and he has been so helpful
I am a bit embarrassed to ask him any more questions!
(at least a dozen e-mails so far) :conehead
So I will ask those here that have played with them.
I won't have the luxury of removing them once installed,
(without cutting the 3.5" pipe)
and feel uncapped would be too loud. Should I drill a few 1/4"
holes in the caps? (4? 6? 8?) Or just leave the caps on? Are they pretty quiet
Capped up? Is there a seat of the pants difference uncapped?
Or just a lot louder? I know "loud" is a personal issue, just don't want to
alert every cop in a 2 mile radius as to my exact location.
Engine is stock 11-1, L72 cam with headers.
Your comments appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Mine is uncapped....and they scream at WOT....but for cruising around, they arent too bad....
However, if you are concious about making noise, then just leave the caps on, maybe drill a few holes. When i had mine installed with caps on, no holes....I was kinda disappointed with the volume....the tone/sound was good, but nowhere near as loud as I wanted....so drilling maybe the key for inbetween
