Comb Chamber cc's on stock 81 heads?
For relatively low buck hop up, looking at upgraded Vortec heads
w/ss valves, .500 springs, etc, on ebay. 64cc's - would that up the
cr without getting into the shortblock?

Yes it will. The stock heads are rated at 76c.c. but are more correctly in excess of 80c.c. in most cases.
Don't forget that you'll need a Vortec intake with those heads.
