Need Q-Jet jets/rods: any Forum supporting vendors sell any?
I *think* that I'm looking for 74/47 jets/rods combo for my lightly modded '75 coupe (trying to confirm with Lars!). Does anyone know if any Forum supporting vendors carry these parts?
TIA

Lars has them! Check my sig. He provided the jets/metering rods in exchange for my stock components.

If not Lars, check out Carbs Unlimited at: http://www.carbs.net/quadrajet.asp

Ted, that's great to know! Carbs Unlimited is my backup choice but I'm hoping to hear from Lars soon. Lars - are you there?? :D

If you want the GM (AC Delco) parts you can order them by part number from forum supporting vendor GMpartsdirect.com . You can also order them from your local Chevy dealer. Typically you pay more at the dealer but no shipping charges. I don't have the part numbers in front of me, but I can dig them out if you need them. If you are getting advice from lars (a good idea! :) ) he will have the part #s for you.
Edelbrock makes equivalent parts with their own numbers; They are available from speedshops and vendors that carry Edelbrock, like summitracing or jegs. MJ
I have purchased rods and jets from GMpartsdirect.com, from my local chevy dealer parts department, Edelbrock parts from summit, and the carb parts vendor you mentioned.

Frank -
You can order them from any GM dealer. I have the part numbers in my Q-Jet Tuning paper.
The 74/47 combo might be just a tad on the lean side of you have some mods. Bumping up 2 sizes from the stock #72 in a '75 Vette will richen you up a tad at WOT, but the #47 rods will keep your cruise mixture almost unchanged from stock. Try runing a set of 46 rods with those 74 jets - this will produce a little bit of an improvement at cruise and idle with a modified engine.

Re: Need Q-Jet jets/rods: any Forum supporting vendors sell any? (lars)
Okay - thanks Lars. The car has headers and true duals (2 1/4") at this point. I didn't see the part nos. in the tuning paper but maybe I was looking at the wrong thing. I saw the 74/47 combo in past posts with cars with similar mods.
So that means I can keep the stock rods, right? (stock combo is 72/46). That simplifies things a lot. thanks again

Thanks for the links. The 46 rods are stock for me, so all I need is jets.
