Default Paging Tom DeWitt - Electric fan question

Tom,
I have the Griffin replacement SB 4speed without air radiator (your part number 6563AF-BXX).
I want to know what you recommend as far as electric fan conversions for this radiator? I want to avoid through the core bracket setup if possible. Thanks in advance.

Tom should have clamps that are mounted on top of the radiator that will secure the fans/shroud

I went with the 16 inch Spal fan the dewitt sells with the 71 sb no air radiator. It looks like this: http://www.dewitts.com/pages/product...asp?ProdID=240 I am going to make my own brackets for it that will attach to the radiator holders on the top and bottom. I figure I will bend some sheet metal and attach the fan to it.

The "through the core" mounting that I've seen used scares me too. It looks like a leak just waiting to happen. You should definitely fabricate some brackets if you don't find some available. Just my $0.02

I offer a 16" electric fan kit that includes the fan (2360 cfm), the brackets, and the wiring/relay harness. $203 The brackets attach to the upper stem and the two lower pins. The rad/fan link above is a different set up, which is welded to the radiator. I don't have a photo of this kit yet but it works good. The dis-advantage of the "add on" fan kit is that it will not allow the fan shroud to go over it while the weld on does. You don't need the shroud, but some people like to put it on to hide the fan. Sorry I was so late in posting.

Thanks Tom for the answer. Sounds like what I want. I will not keep the shroud in so your brackets will work for me. Now I know what I am getting for Christmas :hurray: :hurray:
