My Vette is falling apart.......
I'm bummed......
1. Fuel vapour cannister is still leaking fuel
2. ZERO oil pressure
3. Dash has collapsed so I can't fit my new console
4. Vacuum system is poked
The Southern Hemisphere Summer is arriving and I can see I'm going to be stuck in the garage.....
Anybody got any inspirational tapes, motivational speeches, or maybe I just need some more pics of girls with Corvette tatoos :) ?????

Better fix that fuel canister problem fast.
A guy here in the Netherlands lost his beatiful 68 vette due to a fuel leak related fire, a real shame: http://www.corvetteclubdrenthe.nl/images/c3-25.JPG

Cheers mate......I know that most of these things are within my capabilities, but since I'm new, it's a slow process for me......then I get the "while I'm at it" thing and it starts getting overwhelming.......I can see the finished product in my head and I know I'll get there

Re: My Vette is falling apart....... (RMVette)
Major thing I'd worry about on that list is ZERO oil pressure! What happened?
I've had a variety of opinions on this, but in short it's just a tired, mismatched motor that either needs to be rebuilt or replaced.....I was just hoping not to have to do this until next year.....
Of course, your welcome to fly over and sort it out :)

Just keep the faith! At least you are not fixing up a Civic or something!!!! Look at it this way, since you have all those problems it can only get better right?
1. Fuel vapour cannister is still leaking fuel You'll fix it
2. ZERO oil pressure You'll fix it
3. Dash has collapsed so I can't fit my new console You'll fix it

Here in Canada we call that " Vette Rot" What you have there is a parts car. With or with-out tatoos are a great distraction from vette Rot

1) Get rid of the fuel vapor cannister.. You actually don't need it.. Just plug the end of the fuel line going into it...
2) the oil pressure might be the gauge. Get a used one on Ebay..
3) I'm sure that the dash is fixable...
4) Vacuum system is easy to replace.. just a pain in the butt...
I think that ZIP sells a color coded kit with instructions...

The vacuum issue is not a big deal. If you're going to do it, you really don't need to buy the kit. Get a vacuum pump and test each hose. When you find a bad one (won't hold vacuum), replace it with hose you can buy at the auto parts store, by the foot.
It takes about two hours and four beers.
Enjoy.
