Default New addition to our garage!- - - an '82

A good friend of my wife decided (for the 3rd time) to finally sell her 1982 that she has owned since 1984. It is silver/blue with a blue interior and has mirrored t-tops. The car is "all there", but needs a good cleaning and some cosmetic items. We picked it up for a more than reasonable price.

The lady we bought it from sunk a TON of money in the car in the 19 years she had it. It is a shame but I think many of the "repairs" were not really needed but they saw a woman and figured they could take advantage of the situation. She really loves the car, but lost her job and needs the cash, so it is a win/win situation.

PICS TO FOLLOW (it poured most of the day today and could not get a decent shot).

Also, I want to thank my good friend Electron Blue '02 (Alan) for spending the better part of the day with me going over the car and sharing his knowledge. I really appreciate it

Congratulations! Another 82 online :hurray: That's a nice color combo. Mine was that exact same scheme before the attack of the 3rd World Paint Booth.

The lady we bought it from sunk a TON of money in the car in the 19 years she had it.
It only took me two years :D

shoptek:
I'll be 'right up-front' with you;

STAY AWAY from the Desertdawg, unless you don't mind removing coyote innards from your new '82!!!

Congrats on your '82; another 'lost soul' to commiserate with about THE slowest V8 Corvettes ever built!!!!!

But they ARE a good-looking, and good-riding Corvette...
:steering:  :auto:

P.S.: And, NO, Desertdawg, it'll NEVER end!!!!! :D

That's the body style and color combo, I liked most before I settled on the 74.

[The lady we bought it from sunk a TON of money in the car in the 19 years she had it. It is a shame but I think many of the "repairs" were not really needed but they saw a woman and figured they could take advantage of the situation.]

This has happened to me on more then one occassion. It has made me a little gun shy.

Also, I want to thank my good friend Electron Blue '02 (Alan) for spending the better part of the day with me going over the car and sharing his knowledge.
Please, send Electron Blue `02 (Alan) to Tennessee. Send him "Overnight Express" mail with a return address sticker on him and when I'm through asking question I will be sure to send him right back home......hmmmmmm...unless he likes Tennessee. In that case he'll send for his Vette.
Does anyone have any idea of a show close to me anytime soon? Or is anyone going to be passing thru the area?
I took my Vette to a near by garage to have the right rear problem fixed (e-brake and U-joint locked up). They tore into it a week ago and said they were waiting on parts. I think I'm being messed with again. :skep:
They see me drive up in a Vette and..................well you know the rest. :smash:
Just needed to  a little

It was a pleasure spending the day with Marc, Lisa (Mrs. Shoptek), and son,
Marshall. This wasn't work.... it was fun :D
Marc and Lisa got a great buy on this car. Not very often you find a
(almost) one owner '82. Worked out well for seller and buyer

Marc has already bought new oil and filter, so I'm sure it will be in better
shape soon than when he bought it. Marc is as **** (or more so) as
the rest of us.

Hi 79VetteGirl.... I do like Tennessee ! As a matter of fact, I just got home
from breakfast with a good friend that is visiting from Chattanooga :D

Always willing to help out a fellow Corvette owner and Forum member.
I'll see if I can find a large enough box to ship myself out in. If so, see
you next week
