Title says it.

Will a diff & Xmember from a C4 w/3:54 bolt into the frame?

I suppose that diff is wider so the half shafts would have to be changed?

Yours is a dana 44 too but not as strong.

The C4 diff ALMOST bolts into the fram, you need to make the mounting easrs a tad longer, look in the corvettefaq, there's a thread there with pics that I posted on the install. You'll also need to modify a stock pre 80 pinion mount to bolt to the torque arm mounting pad on the diff, and the yoke will be a bit further back so you'll need a longer drive shaft.

I thought the 80 thru 82's had the Dana 36?

no all 84's and all automatic C4's had the 36, the manual 85+ C4's had the Dana44.

Marck The two Dana 44's I was checking on, well one was busted and the other I haven't been back to check on yet. Maybe a couple will turn up. Jim

That sucks, what was busted on the 1st one? Was it beyond a rebuild?

I didn't go to look at it. I was told that it was cracked and full of water. I can't understand listing an item like that at all. I will check on the other one tomorrow. If I get an extra a I'll let you know. JIM
