Lets talk Chrome
Is anyone out there re-chroming bumpers (or anything for that matter) where the cost is less then reporduction. When I was restoring my 66 the cost of rechroming vs repo / enchange was the same. I know the EPA has caused the price to jump, but is there a less costly route to take or a plating shop out there that does good work at a lower cost then repo?

Re: Lets talk Chrome (Mr D.)
Mr. D, I don't know the cost or much about the site but this place came highly recommended by a felow C3 owner from Pensylvania.

Re: Lets talk Chrome (guppie)
I've gotten several quotes for my valve covers and bumpers--most run about $75 each for valve covers and $150 each for back bumpers. I'm not sure about bumpers, but I bought a very good looking set of valve covers that look very close to the originals (except the chrome is better and the don't have the "projection weld" dents that the originals have) for about $20.
