Default Replacement power window issue

Has anyone ever had the power window motor short out because it is bumping up against something else? My window would not go back up...took a test bulp and the wiring is good from the switch to the connector...took test wire connected to postive batt terminal and got spark from both terminals on motor, indicating it was grouded out somewhere...began to take off regulator bolts and it started working. Anybody else have issues such as this?

If the windings inside burn the varnish off or it dries from age or come looses and scrape a bare spot to the case, yes it will happen.

I don't think that it is old enough to be dry from age. I got it at autozone about 4 months ago. Would there be any thing I might be able to do to the outside of the casing to keep it from connecting to what ever it is that is making it ground out?

I would pull the motor and take it back.
