Exhaust leak?
Ever since I've had my Vette, I've had (what I call) an exhaust leak. The exhaust fumes are getting into the cabin some how. If you ride in my Vette, you will smell like exhaust. I know this can't be healthy for me but I've had it checked out but still can't find where it's coming from. I've even had new mufflers and tail pipes put on. The muffler shop that put the new mufflers on said the rest of my pipes were good.......no need to replace them. :skep:
The smell isn't strong enough to detect all the time but you can sure tell it on your clothes........ :-( :-(
Can it be coming from the engine compartment thru the firewall?
Any suggestion? :banghead:

Vent door seal behind the passenger side kick panel? Mine was like gone. I made a new seal with a piece of rubber roofing, works great!

Big Fish hit one of the area to look at.
With the engine cool or cold run your have down the A/C evaporator case by the engine on the passenger side. A crack or hole in the case will allow fumes to get in.
Have your muffler shop run the car on the hoist and feel from exhaust manifolds to the rear end for any leaks. There is one somewhere that is being sucked into the cabin.

if you are getting exhaust fumes, then the fumes are comeng from the manifold....either cracked, not sealing by the heads, or by the exhaust pie...maybe the donut is not sealing.
