Well, we voted on colors to paint the 79 project car today. Two of my colors were SC gray and WB Yellow. I lost. :cry

I voted SC Gray on the basis of Jerry's car. It is one of the few forum vettes I can always picture in my mind.

It's a neat color...depending on the light it can look green or silver, or gray metallic. I like it and I get a lot of compliments on it as well as the question "what color is that"?

Steel Cities is one of the neatest colors they put on the C3's. If you have a black interior go with it or ontario orange.

By the way, what is the original color supposed to be?

Actually, I see it all the time... I printed a copy and have it taped to the side of my '71 for motivation.

Have to get that '70 finished first though... I already have enough projects in the works right now.

Give me a few weeks and my car should be done. Then I will have alot of pics of STG for ya. I am really pushing to get it done for Cruisin the Coast in Mississippi, but it may be a week after that when I finally get it.

I have to admit that a Steel Cities Gray '71 LT-1 convertible with a black top and black leather interior would just about be my ideal C3. Possibly a Laguna Gray '70 configured the same way. I think that the darker tinted grays make the chrome stand out much better than on the lighter colored silvers like Cortez, Nevada, and Silvertone.

Well more like primer black for those who are really picky.
I have more time invested in uploading the picture than actually doing it.
It would take quite a bit more time to shine it up. White cars are harder to color change because they don't show relections as well as a darker car. But this should give you an idea of what it would be like. Just squint your eyes when looking at the picture.

'72 Steel Cities Gray with late '70s aluminum wheels. I think this was the nicest looking car that my dad has had. (I know, I hadn't mowed the lawn in a while.... I was about 10.)

This color goes good with the tinted windows and roof. I have saved it for my file. Probably will get the paint done in the Spring. Still unsettled on where, but have a couple of ideas.

My nephew has a 1980 Black/black and ran into a guy with a black 1982 that had just got painted by a guy named Jesse James (I think). He said the paint job was really good and I think he got the information for this painter. I'll ask him tonight if he can relocate it.
