Default Bent frame, how to fix?

The front part of the frame, below the harmonic balancer is all beat up. I think most of the damage is from previous owners using it to jack up the car. Any ideas on how this can be repaired would be greatly appreciated.

Me too! Bubba must have used a bottle jack there!
I may have been able to fix this when my engine was out, but I forgot. :(

Greg

The bottom of the front crossmember is relatively thin metal and doesn't really provide much in the way of structural rigidity. Zip sells a replacement lower portion repair panel for $139. Part number M-3280. You can cut out the old panel and weld in the new one.

Thanks for the info. I'll get one ordered. I wonder what a welding shop would charge me to weld it in?

I would look into welding in a heavier piece of metal or supports under the plate. If done correct you won't be able to see it and it will add strength to that spot so you can jack it there.

Take it to a welding shop and have them fabricate a piece and weld it on. Much cheaper then ordering the part.
