Re: What should a clutch cost? (jac1502)
you should expect to pay probably around 450 to 550 for labor and parts including throw out pressure plate and clutch disc. also if your flywheel has hot spots on it you may want to have them resurface that also... :steering:

Depends a lot on the going rate for labor where you are. Around here (Utah) most shops are running around $60 per hour, last time I looked.
A decent clutch kit will be $200 (disc, plate, t/o bearing, and alignment "binky"). Yours should be 11.0", 26 spline.
While I was in there, I would install a new clutch fork. The spring/clip thingy on those has a tendency to fatigue and break, usually right after you get it all put back together and start driving the new clutch. The fork is about $60.
I would expect to resurface the flywheel. For the small extra cost, it is worth it in added life to the new clutch and a really nice, like-new clutch action. Figure $30 to have that done.
That adds up to $290 in parts. Call it $300. Add 2 hours of shop time at $60 each, and you're at $420.

What would everyone pay to have a clutch installed, parts and all?
Labor should be anywhere from $150 - $300

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a shop that could do the clutch in 2 hours. You pretty much have to remove both front exhaust pipes and the shifter assembly just to remove the transmission. I'd bet that it would be more like a 4 hour labor bill.
