Headers for a stock '77 C3 L-48??
You guys have probly addressed this somewhere on the forum?? Do I need to use shorty headers? And would it be a big mistake to go w/o the coated ones?Summit lists "standard" Hedmans at $119.95,Dynomax at $99.95,and theirs at $79.95.What do you guys recommend,& are there any installation problems I should know about or do they bolt rite in? Thanks :steering:

I installed the summit brand headers. It was a bolt in operation, except for the trimming of the exhaust. I can't tell you if I gained any power or not, I did not do any testing before and after, and I also added an intake and heads at the same time. I would get the coating, the painted headers look real old, real fast (paint burns off after a few runs).

Not sure if I'll have the money for the Ceramic ones.I wonder if theres some kind of extra coating I could apply myself, something with high temp resistance.Or maybe just wrap them if it doesnt look bad. :banghead:

Dynomax ceramic coated. No installation issues. 1500miles on them & they look as they did the day they were fitted. They're top notch old chap :)

Brutus,
That techline coating is what I've been looking for. Have you used it? Does anyone have any experience with this product.
Looking for feedback!
Thanks,
snakey

I am using the Hedman header and I really like them. I recommend getting the coated versions no mater what brand you get.
