Default Which exhaust should I run????

I currently have Hedman headers, 2.5" duals, X-pipe, and Flowmaster 40's that were just installed last summer. This system worked great and I'm sure it flowed plenty for my mildly-built 350. But, I have a 525hp 383ci on it's way and I started to wonder if this system would flow enough air to keep up with the new motor. I was considering eventually going to Hooker headers and sidepipes or maybe even even a 3" undercar system with X-pipe and large-tube headers. But, I'm not sure if the Hooker's will work with the Canfield heads. As Tshort found out, the spark plugs won't clear the Hedman headers with these heads, but the dynomax headers do, so for now I might have to use those. What do you guys think

Your existing exhaust system should flow fine with the new motor and sound good too.
If you like the side pipes though, my good friend has them and they have great flow even with the baffles installed and the sound is just that much better.

If anyone is interested, I have a set of chrome Hooker headers and sidepipes from a '71 big block that I will sell for half price.

I will be changing over to 3 in. exhaust for my 427sb, I was also looking at Hedman Hustler headers today as Edelbrock recommended them for the Victor Jr. heads. They look pretty wild with a 1 7/8 in primary. :D

I would only change the muffler for your new setup, to either Borla's or Dynomax Ultraflows. They both have very high cfm and sound great, not sure waht the Magnaflows cfm are but might look into them as well.

The 40's don't flow as well as these mufflers
