Radiator cap problem. Help please.
Did a dumb thing Sunday pm. I had just changed the oil in my 82. I was checking the water in the radiator, opened the cap and it came apart. I had a new xtra GM cap still in the box. I put the cap on only to realize I put the wrong size cap on. It went on fine but now I can't get it off.
Any advise?
Thanks :smash:

On some caps you have to push down hard to get them to turn past the locking tabs. On the C-3 the cap is in a difficult place so you have to work on turning it.

Thanks for the reply JT.
I have been off the board for awhile. You sent me some info about t-tops/weather stripping back in 2001.
My hats off to you for keeping the forum such a great source of info for all vette lovers.

Thanks tersian.
I can push down hard on the cap and can get in to the position where it should come off, put it won't.
How will the strap wrench help?
