Update on massive rear body repair (pics)
Finally finished the rear body repairs. A lot than I bargained for as everywhere you see primer below I had to repair in some way.. For those that might have to do this level of repair.........go buy a rear clip or rear deck and replace the entire thing. Having to do the entire repair by hand and get it close to the original lines was a real challenge. Finally, I got it as close and as smooth as I can, after about 8 hours of finish work. If its not perfect, then hey, its not perfect. I don't believe its humanly possible to get it any better, at least for an amateur human like myself. Looks like you did a really nice job, I know how much work it is. I had to do the same kind of thing, my firewall was in 3 large pieces with multiple holes and cracks and because there's no replacement one to be found here I had to build it up from scratch.

I agree with your advice 100% Keith. I learned on my 71, if you try to repair a stress crack in an actual body line, often eventually it will pop back up. Replaceing the entire panel would have given better results. Just depends on how perfect you want the outcome and how involved you want the project to be.
