Drove to their Tallmadge retail store to pick up some valve stem seals So I tell the guy specifically that I need the crane umbrella valve stem seals for .500" OD diam valve guides and that I have the .531 ones that I ordered by mistake. I then have him check on a replacment roller bearing for my Cloyes timing cover along with a timing tape for my balancer since the Proform cover I have rubs on 2 diff tabs I have tried. He shows me my timing cover in the book and adds roller bearing to the ordered then tells me I need Proform's timing tab to go with my cover so I say through it in. Go to the pick up window and decided to check out the roller bearing and it is the wrong one so I have it credited to me and go to a diff counter to see if I can get the right one. Special order so I pass since I want to put this eng together asap. I decide to have him double check the seals and they turn out to be the exact ones I have sitting at home! :mad So I have to switch them out. Would have been super pissed had I left without checking them out. Well I get home and take the timing tab out of the bag and it is a GM performance timing of which I already have 2, why they hell did he say I needed the proform one then put a GM one on my order? What an a-hole! :mad Guess counter guys are can be idiots no matter where they work. :rolleyes:

I get the same at a lot of places.. I had tires put on once and just happened to see the guy spin the tire on the balancer ONE or two revolutions ( maybe 10mph! ) and then put the weight on. When I asked the manager he told me that was as fast as the balancer went. I told them just to forget the balance and I took it to a place that spins on the car. I am sure he would have done all four that way if I hadn't have seen him and complained.

I think GM sells Proform products under the GM name.
