rear window louvers
I was looking for rear window louvers to put on my '81. Does anyone know who makes them? I've been searching online parts catalogs but cannot find any. Thanks.

Re: rear window louvers (Ybnormal)
You could try e-bay, or call around to some of the larger Vette dealerships. I bet they get a car in with lovuers on from time to time and they probably trash them.

Hop's-vette. Check a company called Astra-Hammond. Location in Canada. Made these I know last year for sure. About the $250.00 range. Three piece.

YBNormal and Hops -- let's help the world recycle. I removed a set of aluminum window louvers off my 81 and they're just sitting around. Let me know if you're interested.

Re: rear window louvers (battsup)
Don't these things rattle on the vette? They did on my 86 Camaro and it had the same kind of hatch-back window. I pulled them off after a couple of months and sold them.

Re: rear window louvers (81' Corvette Guy)
I would be interested as well.
In Phoenix they would help keep a lot of the heat out of the car.
Get them powder coated red, and take them off for car shows.
Do these come on and off easily ????

Re: rear window louvers (BSeery)
BSeery - I spent 1 week in June 2002 in Phoenix. It hit 112 - my Jeep's A/C could barely keep it reasonable inside. We headed to my wife's dad in Sierra Vista (near the Mexican border) where it was cooler:D. It's got to be rough on paint and interior in that heat!

Re: rear window louvers (Fast81)
Thanks Fast81 but I will probably pass. I prefer the abs plastic, and did find them on the Asta-Hammond website suggested by JCL. Of course while looking online last night I saw several pics of Vettes with some nice window tinting also. So now I'm not sure if I'll go with Louvers or just tint the windows! Too many choices to make!

I haven't experienced any rattling with mine. They were on the car when I bought it so I'm not sure where the previous owner got them.

Re: rear window louvers (Hop's-vette)
One good option you might want to consider is the Lexan tint that pops in from inside !!! When I removed the louvers, I bought it and looks/works great. Been thru San Antonio TX, CSprings CO (HI sun areas). It looks like a perfect tint job (no lines, wrinkles) and installs/removes in minutes. Got mine from Corvette Central part #103163 $115 (frequently on sale for $99)
