Ok, I'll take a shot. I believe you have a Super T-10 wide ratio not a T-10 in your '79?
The ST-10 is agood tranny,it has better ratios then the Munice wide ratio. It holds the most value to you with the original engine/car. Used Munices and ST-10 ,(M-20's and M-21's),run anywhere from $300-$750 from a dealers at swap meets I attended. I haven't seen too many sell for the higher prices though because they're still there at the end of the day most times.
At Carlisle you would get more interested parties, but a lot of guys are doing just what you are now-moving up to OD trannies because of the non-ending gas rip off.
For the $400-500 you might get you'd be better off storing it in case you ever wnat to sell the car or restore it. At which time you'll never have the original parts and you'll have to search for good ones probably at higher prices then they're worth.

I've seen a few sell for $300-400 on both this forum and Ebay, depending on the ratios. The ST-10 came in a few different configurations, so you'll have to figure out which one you have from either the numbers on the case or from your build sheet.
Some people try to sell them for $600+, but IMO those buyers are very hard to find.

Looks like a super T-10,how many grooves are cut into the input shaft splines? 3 rings and it's a 2.64 first wide ratio.

I now have 2 super t-10's in my garage.. I would love to sell them, along with my power steering setup. original 80 hood, A/C, 350 4 bolt block..
I wonder if I have enough stuff laying around now that I could take it to a swap meet. :)
