I bet your having fun. Try this, make a make shift bench(piece of board on top of enough blocks to make the board the same hieght as the door sill of your vette.

yep - yank the seat, that will help a lot.
I am 6'0" and 300 lbs trying to do fiberglass work on the firewall under the dash - yep, it blows.

I"m 6'5" and arthritic as hell, about 2 years ago I overhauled the '72 interior and engine wiring, tore it all out and did things my way, also modified the firewall forward below the steering column and lowered the pedals....lemme say this, .....NEVER AGAIN, not without stripping the entire dash our, wheel and all, ....I took plywood across the seat wells and sat on a milk crate all bent over, and it's a convertible too boot,....
I can't imagine working on a hardtop/coupe of any make for that dash work...
That is why I would never buy a C5, for I know full well eventually the electricals would act up and there I"d be tearing the entire car apart to fix it, and do it all ONCE and right....

To change the pedal assembly the steering wheel must come out and taking the drivers seat out sure helps. I found it the worst part of swapping from automatic to standard. The pedal assembly is held in my 10 secrews.

Your right, I unscrewed, and unscrewed, and finally after I got most of the car taken off of the frame it came out.

I'd suggest you hire a plumber to do it. For some reason, no matter how big they may be, they have a knack for being able to get into tight spaces (under sinks, behind toilets) and get the job done. :jester
