I am looking for an engine with 355HP and up (max 450) to replace my stock engine.
Should I go with complete new 350 or a rebuild (383) ?
Give me your opinnion and people who know where to get a good engine let me know.

Re: New Engine. (stingraymax)
Well, you can't beat the General for a good engine. GM Performance Parts offers 350 HP, 355 HP, 430 HP Engines (all are 350 CI), and you can get them complete from carb to the oil pan. Tons of guys use the ZZ4, which is a 355hp/400+ftlbs. 350 ci engine. Scoggin-Dickey has some good prices on them.

What kind of numbers have people gotten out of the zz4? Like 1/4 and 0-60 if anyone has ever timed it. Also, what kind of milage do they get.
I know this also depends on the gearing, but I'm curious.
