Thanks, Pat and Bob. I'm aiming for a Dec. start up. Should have the motor tranny in the car in a couple of weeks. Then Deer hunting kicks in.

To be honest, I am a bit intimidated with the complexity of the swap to consider it; but, the LS1/6 engine is truly incredible! It would be very easy to make an honest 500 hp with just a few changes and still have a very light, civilized, high torque, efficient engine! A very lean ZL1 that graduated top of the class from finishing school.

I say an honest 500 horsepower because such engines are usually quoted to be about 20% more powerful than they really are using computer simulations or the best guesstimates obtained from serious bench racing sessions. If you were to follow Katech’s CR5 build sheet, 600+ is very doable for an engine that can be driven flat out for 24 hours. Not just a quick 1,000 hp flash.

I hope you can get it on the road soon and enjoy it!

I thought I read that the engine mounts for the LS1 were very different from C3s?

Yes they are. S&P sells mounts that make it work or some have fabricated theor own.

Hey that's really cool. Converting to an LS1 is something that I would like to do as well. I enjoy reading what you guys have done. It is always interesting to see other approaches to solving the same problems. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing the info.

Very cool!

Of course, I'm kind of biased...

:)

Are you going to take it to the track? I'd be interested in seeing what kind of times you get.

Default Bowling Green to the Corvette factory

I am planning trip to Bowling Green, KY to have not only have, but help with the building of my own personalized Corvette, I am not sure which model I am going with yet, but I just love these cars. I have had many brands of American cars, but none has capyured my heart like the Corvette. My all time favorite vette is the 67 427 Coupe. I was a kid of 20 when it was first introduced to the public on Bonanza on tv. I will never forget how excited we were to see the ALL NEW for 67, Corvette Stingray.
