Default Checking power steering fluid

My power steering cap is directly below the alternator bracket with about an inch of clearance between them, is this correct? How do I get the cap out to check the fluid level? I can unscrew the cap but it seems like there is not enough room to remove it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unscrew, lift, tilt, pull. :) It just requires a flick o'tha wrist.

:iagree:

And I suggest you get a funnel with a very long neck for when you have to add fluid.
