I know... I know... if you put something up for sale expect everyone looking for a bargain. But, I hate it when you get responses asking... "What's the least you will take for it?" on an ad that doesn't say OBO. I can accept someone asking if I will take an offer, but will not deal with anyone who just sends that crap statement. Odds are these people(car dealer) will get someone to give them a figure and then make an offer even below that. My first thoughts said respond....

"For you? Double the price would do you flea infested cockroach!"

But, I was nice and simply responded that they could make an offer, but the asking price was reasonable.

And I am specifically speaking of the '74 vette I am starting to advertise for sale.

Yeah.... I was semi-chapped. The ad is now edited with "No trades & the price is firm" just to get those lowlifes from not even sending a response.

Me too...I just don't sell anything...and that's why I have 4 cars in the driveway. Not the perfect solution but procrastination is the motto that I live by... :yesnod:

I don't get into the position to sell to often and when I do I am not desparate so I can ignore the cockroaches. If you have a reasonable price in mind it will sell in time, look at it as if you are looking for a Vette, how much would you pay for it ?

Same happens to me quite a bit. I sell parts that I don't need on a site here in the Netherlands. Given the facts that parts are about 4 times the dollar price here I simply can not understant people wanting to sit front row for a penny. For instance, I have a set of hedman side pipe headers HPC coated and they go for over 1000$ new here (yes 1K$!!) and I offered them for 400$, they are almost brand new only used them for engine break in. Then not one but several people email or call me asking if I will let them go for 100$.. HELL NO! F YOU YOU CHEAP %$%$#%$% .. I just hung up on a couple of them. These people want to drive a corvette here yet they are not willing to spend a few bucks on quality parts. I'd rather cut them up and throw then in the garbage than to give them to someone for 100$.

Or people thinking they can buy a set of next to new Weber 48mmIDF 70 carbs for 200$ LOL
