Who finances C3 Vettes?
I finally found the car I want, now I just need some financing for the darn thing. I have online and inquired at some credit unions and such, but no one really wants to finance a classic car. Does anyone out there know of a reputable classic car loan establishment? Please let me know.
Thanks

Personally, I think it's an unwise decision to go into debt to buy any old car. You're going to have repair costs and downtime as you fix things, meanwhile the payment coupons just keep coming due. Just my $0.02.
Check http://www.hemmings.com as I know that many specialty lenders advertise there. Home equity line of credit would be the smartest way, if you can swing that.

You may need to shop a little more there are credit unions that do that.

I agree with Jerryp58, do not finance.. :smash: Its just a toy and we spend lot's of hard earned funds that we most likely will not get back. But it sure is fun.

When I was in the army I used AmeriCU to finance my vette. they'll only finance 80% of the appraised value, which is there standard used car policy. I don't think they're military only, so you might want to give them a try.

I just refinanced my wifes supercrew through Farm Bureau Bank. Saved us a ton on interest, worth a try.

I would agree, if you can avoid it, don't finance. But, if you gotta do what ya gotta do, try this:
JJ Best - 1-800-USA-1965. They can approve while you are on the phone. Good rates and long terms.
Depends on the year and the state.
"Also, be advised of the following regulations for our loans.
In the following states, we cannot do loans for certain cars:
Alabama: 1975 and older
Connecticuit: 1980 and older
Georgia: 1962 and older
Maine: 1983 and older
New Hampshire: 11 years and older
New York: 1972 and older
Rhode Island: 11 years and older
Vermont: 16 years and older.
Street rods, kit cars and replicars require appraisals, and we can loan 70% of the purchase value.
If a car is less than 15 years old, the car should have less than 50,000 miles on it. This restriction may not apply for qualified applicants.
No loans less than $6,000.00"

We have 3 car loans through them and are very happy with everything.
The application process is quick, the purchase process is simple, the rates are the lowest you will find, and the automated payments save you monthly hassles.

i financed mine thru my credit union. They had to go to a special web site to check out the "value" of it before hand, and they also had to take a look at it. Anouther 15 payments or so and she is all mine.

I saved and paid cash for my 69. Given that our cars are toys and that their upkeep (code for I can make it better) can be expensive, I feel financing over years would be unwise. SAVE!!!! Just my .02 cents.

Re: Who finances C3 Vettes? (JB)
I tried the "peoplefirst" route and got approved only to find that I could not buy a car as old as mine as one of the stipulations of the loan. I was bummed once I saw that in the fine print. I ended up getting a loan through the Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union here in San Antonio. Even then, there was some head shaking and hemming and hawing over what I was trying to do. I have had other car loans with them, so they finally let me do the deal. I even got them to give me a six year note on a 23 year old car. My thought on the loan of an old car is get as low of a monthly payment as you can, especially if you are going to have to dump a bunch of money into it. Most loans you can pay off early without penalty but at least you are not tied into a monthly note that will kill you even after you have to invest in some repairs or "upgrades." My Vette is my daily driver but the wife has a mini-van for hauling the kiddo and dogs about. I don't mind the payments on the Vette as they are only in the 250.00 range every month, not a deal breaker rather the car is running or not. If I could have purchased my car any other way I would have but this way works for me. The "American Dream" one payment at a time and at only 6 or 6.5% interest as I recall.
