Default Driving the Vette after 8 months in the Pacific

Well, I finally got back yesterday from an EIGHT month deployment on the USS Carl Vinson and today, I got to put the top down and drive the Vette again. We left Jan 17 for unspecified time, got word in February that we were deploying, got told in May that November 2 was the return date and then 2 1/2 weeks ago got orders to come home. Been cruising Pacific keeping our eye on Kim Jong Il while everyone else was in the Gulf.

On the plus side, I now know lots of good bars in Perth, Honk Kong, Tokyo, Singapore and Guam.

Anyway, I had left her with the intake and exhaust covered and all I had to do was charge the battery overnight, cranked her with the coil wire disconnected to get oil and fuel back up, and she fired right up. Mid 60's todays and toolin' around with the top down.

Now I can get on with some mods. Bigger cam, fuel injection, Steeroids, Hydroboost are definites.

Just want to say, it is good to be back in the U.S. of A. :flag

Welcome back Steve. Just want to let you know that I have been taking real good care of those Rally Wheels you sold me when you were on the east coast. Thanks for covering our back side.

Thanks guys. The weather is gorgeous here today. It's like summer was extended for us since we were away.

I was actually able to get to the forum from the ship but is was extremely slow. I was fun to read about everyone's projects and you all have given me lots of ideas for the direction I want to go with on the car. Now I just need a few more $$$$.

What was the concensus on board? Kick Kim's azz or not?

The first choice of course Brett, but I think he will fall on his own, the question is just when.

Sweet another Washingtonian!!!! Welcome back. Luckly you got a chance to enjoy a couple days of dry weather. It's turned down hill as you might have noticed this week. let me know if you ever need any help with the projects.
