Default Holley 4175 or 4011?

I'd like to try a spread bore carb to see if it's better than my Edelbrock square bore.

Holleys seem to be a better choice than Q-Jets, so which might be the more reasonale model? 4175 or 4011?

I emailed Holley tech for their advice, and once again, they were noncommital.

I have a 4011 and it is a pretty good carb, BUT!!! the angle of the dual fuel feed lines makes it extremely hard to find an drop base air cleaner that will fit over it. I think the 4175 is a better direct fit for most applications. Personally I'd go with a BG Road Demon.

I have the 4175. The vacuum secondary module did not allow the stock air cleaner to sit down without making a spacer. The taped hole in the base is smaller than the Q-jet so I had to use an adaptor for the power brake vacuum line. The throttle linkage and fuel line hooked up easily. I changed the discharge nozzle( from the .040 to.025), activator cam (Bought the cam package), and the secondary spring (small white). Going on 3years without any problems.

I have a 4010 (square bore cousin to the 4011) and there's a reason that Holley doesn't make them anymore.

Not an impressive carb by any means.

Why not look at a 4150 or 4160?

I'm looking for more low end grunt and maybe better mileage with a spread bore.

Gotcha. I'd probably not go with the 4011 then. Might work for you, but I've yet to get mine to run well.
