Default 1979 RADIATOR 3 OR 4 ROW

Was the stock radiator on the 79 vette a 3 or 4 row radiator? I bought a three row radiator, will it fit? Help please.

My belief is that the L48 was 3 core and the L82 was 4 core with an electric fan.

i have an early 79, Oct 78, with an L-48, with a/c. it has a 4 row radiator, 2 5/8 inches core width. it is a Modine brand replacement that leaks and is getting retrofitted with a plastic/ alum tank from 84-92 to camaros and firebirds. the 3 row radiator should fit, the big issue is if it's wide enough to sit in the saddles or radiator clamps(that hold it to the rad support) to be adequately held in place. Advanced Auto Parts website is great for "researching" a radiator, just type in your vehicle. pull up the radiator or radiators for your car, it gives you a picture and more importantly dimensions of the core and tanks, hose fittings. this is how i researched the camaro/ firebird radiator, also i posed the ? on this forum, and rec'd valuable answers from our members. i bought my camaro/firebird radiator Sunday aat Autozone for $117, lifetime warr.( Advanced Auto Parts was $2 cheaper but didn't stock the rad).
