Pulling the drive shaft on my 69 350
As the header says, I am having the drive shaft pulled on my 69 L-46 to have it evaluated due to a vibration problem I 've had since I bought my car two years ago.
I just left the drive shaft shop and they suggested I find out which yoke my car has before bringing the shaft down in case the yoke is bad. They couldn't guarantee they would have the correct yoke in stock
As mentioned, my car is a 69 L-46 with a 4-speed Muncie (M-20 I believe). Can anyone offer a suggestion as to which yoke I should purchase? Thanks.

Just a warning, but I've chased vibration problems alot and it was motor mounts one time and bad water pump bearings another and bad HB another. I thought driveshaft too, so just be carefull and dont get stuck thinking its one thing only. My .02

They're refering to the number of splines in the output shaft/driveshaft yoke...either 10 or 26....

If you have the original tranny, that yoke is hard to find. A few of the used parts houses have some for somewhere in the $150 to $200 range. Doc Rebuild has a few NOS examples for a cool $315 when I checked a month or so ago. I think it's either a 27 or 32 spline output shaft, I can check to make sure if you really want to know.

Although I didn't mention this in my original post, I did an engine job (removed and rebuilt) last spring which included new motor mounts, transmission mount and of course, a new water pump. The car has been looked at several times recently and my experts think the problem is the transmission, however, both have suggested starting with the drive shaft since the fix is less expensive.
