Re: Where should I advertise my Vette? (Xracer)
Xracer,
I have my '87 in autotrader.com..... for 2 weeks now with NO calls!!!! It isn't overpriced but its a "buyers market" out there, so I have to either drop the price, wait, OR convince my wife to trade it for another C3 (this is what I really want to do!).
Bob

Xracer,
Here's a couple of sites that you can advertise *FREE*. I agree with Bob that this is not the best market to be selling in. You have nothing to lose, so here's the links:
This first one will require you to e-mail all the information and they will add your vette in 2-3 days. No pictures allowed, but you can put a link to pics. Believe it or not quite a busy traveled site on AOL. http://members.aol.com/licoa/csellpri.htm
And go to racingjunk.com and sign up. It's FREE. Then place your ad in the Sports Car section with a pic. It's more of a high performance drag racing parts/cars site, but again it is FREE. They do request you send them a small amount if your car sells. It's purely voluntary, but I would do it.
Hopefully I am not going to get in trouble for posting these links.

Joe, I'm not sure in Rochester, markets pretty soft at the moment. My brother just sold his 96 and according to him he lost his butt. Rod

Bgrice, I disagree. We've seen the market come back STRONG since July. Ask any of the other vendors. Parts, car sales, etc. It seems like there is still a large group of people thinking the economy is still heading down. It isn't. I don't know why all these naysayers have this attitude
Sales are UP, UP, UP!!!

Re: Where should I advertise my Vette? (Chris@VetteFinders)
Chris,
I'm glad to hear that the market is doing well for alot of vendors. The prices appear to be going up(parts that is), so I guess they are convinced that the economy is turning for the better. I hope things are turning up as it is nothing but good for everyone when there is more free cash available for others to take on a new interest. Although I am self-inflicting in my object of selling my '74 not running I've had absolutely no interest from anyone while at a very reasonable price. Hopefully I can get it running next weekend and do the finishing touches and then make a serious attempt at selling it. For now... I see no reason to pay anyone for advertising while I am seeing what the market is for a non-running vette.
(Edited Part)
That is a gorgeous '80 you have Joe. Someone will be proud to have it and hopefully Chris(VetteFinders) finds that buyer.

Chris,
Here's the homepage to the '74 with all of the history to it.... what's been done to it.... and current pics. I have a good racing starter coming in probably Thursday, so I'll work from there.

Hey Joe,
You should have good luck with the Vettefinders ad, that's where I finally sold mine. I think I had about 900 plus views and about 15 inquiries. Well worth the money.
