Default 400 miles today, What a ride....

Today (saturday) we held our Corvette Forum poker run. ( I hope there was one in your area)

Al the proceeds went to the Brain Aneurysm fund, in honor of Jack78, and we raised over $1000.00.

What a great time, but dang those C5 people like to go fast. Everyone made it without getting stopped by the police, and only one breakdown on the 200 mile run.
Add about 200 miles more for us to get there and get home, and me and Mrs Dawg made it without a problem, even thought we ran one leg of about 70 miles, at or over 80mph.....And no, I couldn't keep up with the C5's....

Here's a group photo at Roosevelt Dam.

Desertdawg,

Did you car run well?

I want to apologize to the ACE for not attending... I am in the process of getting a new HEI unit in and the timing setup right (thanks to LARS!), along with the carb adjustments, and a new exhaust system. I want to get this thing right before I take it out on long trips!!! I will definitely be down in March, though!!!

I know, excuses, excuses!!! Is Brian going to update the ACE page with pics?

I will check on that....

Bob

Hey Bob,
Some of the pics are up. ACE Poker Run
My 82 did really good, I did get the oil up to about 255 going up the mountain on state Rt87. but the water temp stayed around 210 the whole time, I was pushing 85 the whole way up, and with the curving roads, I never did get a chance to look down until the top.

The only other C3 ( corvette fetish 79) made it almost to check point 3 after the mountains, but his fuel pump took a powder on him.

Like I said above, I was running mine hard to keep up with those C4's and 5's.
My wife said most of the scenery was a blur....

Time for a LS-1 Swap!!!!!!!!

Seriously, I could see you doing that to that '82. The paint/interior are so nice on that car. The only drawbacks are that crossfire (from a power standpoint) and $$$$$!!!!

Ive always wanted to put in a 6-speed w/FI motor in a C3. Could start passing them then. But Time and Money are always a factor.

Sounds like a good time.

Desertdawg:
I have 3 questions for you;

#1- What rear-gear do you run?
#2- What kinda mileage did you get?
#3- Hit any coyotes?

I ran my 76 w/ 3.08 and turbo350 alot in a 2 week period. Annapolis to morgantown, morgantown to Carlisle, Carlsile to morgan town, Morgantown to Annapolis. Id fill her up and run her till i was around 1/8th tank, had to fill up about 3-4 times for morgantown to annapolis and 1-2 from morgantown to carlisle. So jsut think how much milage that was, no problems what so ever, sghe just started to warm up a bit going up those mountians, i think the highest i hit was 175-180 degresse.
