Who has the fastest C3 now?
Since our 2 superstars (Merlin and Monty) have sold their vettes and the owners aren't on the forum (are they?). Who has the fastest / most HP now? For fastest I mean in the 1/4 mile and top speed and HP is self explanitory. It would be nice to see documentation for any and all claims so you don't get the :bs flag raised on you. Don't know how to document the top speed one. So if you think your bad, step up and post some documentation.

Did Monty sell his car? It was for sale, then he posted that he took it to the dragstrip and decided not to sell. That was the last I saw, but it is hard to keep up! :) ZL1power has got to be up there. Chuck Harmon also... but in my mind there are fast powerful vettes that follow a stock formula, and then there are built engines that are installed in a vette chassis. I can page thru National Dragster magazine, find a race engine builder, pick up a 900 hp engine, and bingo, I am near the top of the list... :) MJ

OK I will bite first. I have yet to make a successful full pass, but I have gone 11.5's, coasting My car makes 491- 500 rwhp (dyno proven) on the motor through full exhaust and 625 on a small shot of NOS (Fogger). I will be adding a second NOS system (plate) and should make around 800 rwhp with open exhaust
I have broken many parts and will not go back to the track untill I have my new full spool IRS rear end (12 bolt guts, 35 spline axels 3 1/2 in. half shafts, truck u-joints, etc) and Jeffco 4 spd.
The goal in 9.5's at 145 +
The car will probably not be back at the track for 6-9 months

You might check the performance registry in the header bar. It looks like our fastest C3 owner is a guy named Mike Mount. I know that I don't plan on beating a 7.50 E.T. :lol:

While I believe many here have the power to run single digets, it takes more than horsepower to run low e.t.'s. While Monty and Merlin no doubt have the power to do it, I question their ability to hook up. Horsepower is NOTHING if you can't put it to the ground. There is nothing I find funnier when I go to the track and here some guy B.S.'ing how fast his car is saying I run 10.XX @ 13Xmph yet never made one pass down the track. You can speculate until the cows come home, but that's all it is, speculation.
Horsepower will take you only so far. After 11's suspension and tire combos play a MAJOR role in 1/4 times.

Furthermore, the question "Who is fastest" depends a lot on what you mean by "fast"? Does "fast" mean 1/4 mile times? Top speed? Track times? Whose track? Who's driving? I could make a Porsche 917K slow....
