Reverse T-handle - how to fix?
Friends,
A buddy's t-handle reverse lock-out thingy is broken on his 79 4-speed. There's a tab that slides up into the ball of the shifter in order to engage reverse gear. The tab above the T part is broken, so the T-handle just spins freely around the stick. You can still engage reverse, but you have to line-up the T-handle correctly to do so.
I'm sure some of you have seen something similar. Is this fixable? Can it be fixed from up top, or does the transmission have to come out. As you can see below, I don't have much experience with a 4-speed, but I'd like to help my buddy get this fixed. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks, GM
