Default expansion tank cap question

Hey guys I need to get a new cap for my expansion tank on my 68 but i need to know the proper spring rating I have a #17 now but it is not the original cap any one know which one I should be using or is a 17 ok

the higher it is, the hotter it can get before it boils over. 3 degrees for each pound.
But, any old worn out hose or rad will fail a few days earlier with more pressure.

Repros of the original 15# caps are available from vendors. If you have the fat aluminum tank, you need an RC-26 cap, if you have the skinny brass one used on A/C cars, you need an RC-15.
