I found a build sheet under the rear wheelwell insulation of my car.

If you have a Brown 1979 4speed with Doeskin Interior VIN 1Z8749S432292 then I have your build sheet.

If you want it, I can send it to you. I don't know why it was in my car...

PS. I did check the 1979 registry, it's not listed.

That's already second case, where a 79 owner has found a buildsheet that belongs to another car! Interesting! Mind if I put this up on the 79registry bulleting board? :cheers:

I've got a 78 with the window sticker but no build sheet and trying to figure some things out. If no one claims it I would like to have it or a copy of it...let me know.

Is this where they typically put the build sheets on C3's?

It's my understanding that the build sheets are normally on top of the gas tank in our cars.

I would like to see the owner of the car get the build sheet if possible, so I will probably hang onto it... but if I can help you figure out whatever it is ..

I found mine under the passenger side carpet. And I suppose there's a tank sticker also. I've heard they are found in different spots on the 79. The workers must toss one in as they are finishing up.

The build sheet matched the rolling chassis to the body with the proper VIN. That is why some people find two sheets: one glued to the top of the gas tank and one underneath the dash, normally on the passenger side.
