Default Laser Beaters

Do those license plate covers that are supposed to defeat laser speed detectors really work?

The only things that will beat laser are :

1. Seeing the cop before he see's you.

2. Seeing the brake lights of the guy in front of you who is about to meet the cop.

3. The cop that is using the laser gun had to much coffee and donuts and can't keep from shaking the damn thing.

This one is the best. I hate being the fastest car on the road. I let someone else have that honor and stay close enough to allow him to catch the trap and far enough back to avoid being caught with him.

Used to run from college to home though NY. 6 hours + each way, no tickets, no radar detector, average 20+ over the 55 limit back then.

Ironically, the only 2 tickets I did get came when I had a radar detector and was the only car for miles.

I always thought fiberglass cars could slip under radar, etc.?

no it was the sloped back radiater along with the sloped/wedge design of our cars that were almost invisible to radar, but that was with old skool technology in the late 70s and early 80s

Over in UK we can fit lazer detectors to our cars. :yesnod: and its legal  A court case a few years ago ruled that they were actually a road safety aid. Sometimes I love the law in this country. Not often, but just sometimes.... :steering:

Actually I was reading earlier tonight about active laser jammers, and one was 99 percent effective in tests.I think the website was http://www.radartest.com but I'm not sure that was it.Pretty interesting reading in how its done, one even jammed a laser gun to a effective range of 60 feet :D
