Default End of the Power Antenna saga

After 2+ weeks of endless wiring detective work, and disassembling and reassembling the power antenna I can gladly say it now works!!!!! :hurray: :hurray:

What I though would be an easy repair to the antenna ended up being a lesson on how 20+ yr old corvettes were wired. I'm sure this is the original antenna based on the condition of it, and most likely it won't last much longer, but at least when it finally dies for good, this time I will be able to replace it in short order.

Small victory but it was a hard fought one for me.

For some reason, when I read the topic title, I thought this post would have been something like this:

"End of the Power Antenna saga"
I had to stop real fast for a red light that I didn't notice till the last second. The guy behind me wasn't paying attention and..."

But I like the way yours turned out better. :D  Now if only I could find a receiver that didn't put the antenna up when I was playing a CD...

You are not kiddin'. It is most irritating to see the antenna go up and get the wear and tear on the motor just to listen to a CD. Let me know if you find a receiver that does what you are looking for as I would be interested in one as well.

The BOSE system in my old 1996 infiniti i30 used to put the antenna down when I was playing a CD and not put it up if I left the CD on when I shut off the car. Maybe that's a place to start looking.

You can override the radio control on the pwr ant, and wire it for manual control. This saves the wear & tear....
