The link did not go anywhere for me.
We have had a little of that plate frame stuff here too. Its just one of those things to use when they cannot find any other justification to bust your stones.

There go the vanity plate bracket sales in Texas. Should be a swarm of them for nothing on E-bay soon. Guess I gotta pull the 1974 Corvette plate brackets(when I get it running).
So much for those *Hook-em Horns* & *Gig-em Aggies* brackets that are on 1/3 of the cars in Texas.

Actually quite a few states have laws on the books about license plates. For example Ohio has a "no cover over the plate", i.e. those clear or smoke plastic plate protectors. Also there is a vague requirement about the bracket and how much of it can cover the edges of the plate, if at all. None of these are ever enforced unless the mayor's court is really short of cash that month or if you have really pis-s-ed off the officer and he's in a writing mood.....Just be sure not to get on the wrong side of a traffic stop without having a front plate, sometimes it slips by and sometimes not.
