I think by static hp they mean hp adjusted for variances in temperature and whatnot.

Like, if you run the dyno in Az in 110 degree weather at about sea level, and in San Francisco in 60 deg weather at about sea level, the hp number should be the same after adjusted for temperature/pressure.

What #s did you get? Depending on transmission and whatnot, there's a variable percentage of engine power lost through the drivetrain. take your HP number and divide by .85 to get an approximation of what the engine power will be. (Use 0.8 if you're using an older auto tranny with a non-lockup torque converter)

How's your timing and carb mixture?

What headers/exhaust?

These things could easily attribute to another 30 rwhp. 251 is just a little short of what the LS1s make, I think. You really aren't doing that bad.

Wanna race??? :D

What were your torque figures????

What exhaust, headers mufflers etc. ?

Did you have a A/F probe set up.?

Did you do it with and without air cleaner.?

You are definatly down in HP you should be near 300RWHP is everything is set up properly. :D

PS. How much vacuum do you have with that cam ?

torque is 252.9..hooker super comps side pipes..air fuel at 14 to 1..air cleaner on..timing at 34 degrees but street driving engine seems to like 38 degrees better..at idle cam pulls 10 lbs vac :banghead:

Hmmm everthing seems OK, unless you have dirty or restricted air cleaner. With that cam, torque and horsepower should be close to equal so no suprise there, but it should be much higher. Quite possibly there is something with this static horsepower thing, my graphs always say SAE horespower.

suttin aint right bout dat!

your setup is better then mine (see sig) and i should be able to put down about 315 right now (new tranny and converter since the dyno) Your making more compression, better heads and alot of the same stuff i have, you should be way higher then what you dynoed at.
