OT My respects to Johnny Cash
Much like the corvette, Johhny Cash represents America and it is sad to see him pass. My respects go out to his family and all his fans and may his music live on. So play a little Cash as your drive your vettes today.

MAN, that is three great entertainers we lose this week.

1. The guy who sang "Warewolfes of London" and many other songs.(sorry, forget his name, love that song though)
2. Johnny Cash
3. John Ritter (Jack from "threes company")
May they all rest in eternal peace. :blueangel:

Re: OT My respects to Johnny Cash (78silver)
I was saddened to hear about Johnny Cash and John Ritter. This morning I also got a email at work that my favorite secretary who had 1/2 her stomach removed because of cancer 2 years ago was once again on her death bed. I sent my condolensces by email and after send it found out she passed away.
Notice how things come in 3's. Johnny, John and Kathy.

The other guy you're thinking of is Warren Zevon. Died earlier this year at age 56 from lung cancer. Songwriter, singer, and musician. Based in L.A.
Regarding Cash, he wrote and recorded some classic songs. Probably the first country music artist who had song cross over into the rock/pop chart in the '60's. But I think the reason why he became such an American icon are the principles he applied to his profession and his life. He embodied many of the traits that we hold so dear as Americans. He was fiercely independent, stuck to his beliefs during times of adversity, never forgot his roots, loved the common man and underdog in society, loved his wife and family, etc. They don't make 'em like him anymore. We lost a real treasure. Amen.
