Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement air filter assembly that mates up to the stock cold air supply through the hood?

Ebay or a vette graveyard.

BB and SB top rings are different. Make sure you get the right one. I cann't remember but one is offset an inch compared to the other.

Also check with Paragon, (800) 882-4688. Their catalog shows one for the 73-75 small block (3846K) that includes the base, cover, and adapter ring for $305.00. The did not specificyly list one for a bigblock but the base and cover fron this one would work, just need the correct adapter ring for the BB. (This list this for 73-75 but the 75 had a different adapter ring due the the HEI distributor that year. So, who knows, they may have the ring that you need.)

But I would also keep a close watch on eBay, have seen them there.
