these switches are mixed up!!!
OK...i guess you could call this a rant or a pet peeve...whatever...
but ill bet im not the only one thats annoyed by this...
how many times has a passenger reached over to put the window down and locked the door?!?
what the heck were they thinking? the window switch should be on the freaking door! and the lock switch should be the one down on the console!!
i am considering wiring them that way when i have my interior out doing the carpet...
has any of you done this? am i the only one here thats annoyed by this???

I don't have power locks, so I can't say I get confused. But it was kind of natural for me. I have a Saturn SC2 and it has the window switches in the center console as well. I was used to it before I got in the vette, so it never donned on me that something was strange.

No power locks here either. I like being able to reach down to the console with one hand controll both windows at once though. They zip up and down pretty fast too.
Now our Toyota van thats a tricky one. It had this express up and down feature. One push of the button takes the window all the way down or up. But when I just want to open it a little bit, I sometimes struggle with the button. Up down up down up down. Cant get the friggin thing to stop where I want. Its so touchey. You gotta poke it like bird peckin seed or somethin. blip..... blip..........blip what a PITA. Gimmi a friggin crank...ill be happy :yesnod:

pwr door lock buttons are always on the door and the the pwr window buttons are either on the door or the console, door locks are never on the console. I have an fbody that is the same way as yours, and I would be pissed if I had too reach all the way across the car to roll down the pass window. What would be the purpose of having pwr windows if you still have to reach. I think the solution would be to get smarter passengers :D

actually you cant blame em...its natural to want to put a window down and see a switch on the door and just flip it assuming that its the window switch...
after all, you can also see a lock there too in the armrest...
as far as having to reach across...with all due respect...it isnt like these are wide cars...
reaching across is no big deal...
but now you guys got me thinking...
i will be replacing the door panels this winter and i think what im gonna do is simply not put a lock switch in the pass door...
that'll fix em!!! :yesnod:

That's exactly what I did on both doors. I left the manual buttons. I have a keyless entry too so its real easy to lock myself in or out.
