Default Guys w/ auto and G-techs

Have you noticed if brake-torquing causes the G-tech to start measuring prematurely?

I got a 7.45 second g-tech reading with a power-brake versus 7.15/7.18 with just "stabbing" it.

Doesn't make sense, the 7.45 run felt a lot faster but ended up a lot slower.

Just curious.

I'm going to make some runs Saturday. Will let you know. I know that when I torque it up, I get so much wheel spin that stabbing it gives me the best times.

g tech is a new device that measurs the "g" forces in your car with an accurate time. by having thoes 2 figuers it caculates your top speed, and your 1/4 time.

drag strip in a box.

just add a cop free and safe 1/4 mile

I've had mine start if I just banged on the throttle to hit my stall RPM. Try being a bit slower about reving the engine with the brakes on.

I doubt it. The signal processing is probably designed to only qualify a run as legitimate once it sees a significant amount of positive acceleration.

it would start running the clock and not stay on go. If you power brake it or whatever, just see if it still reads go. If it does then it has not started to time.

THe G-Tech is only as accurate as the surface you test on. It is fairly accurate.

Corz: you have to realize that the unit does not measure reaction time and it also measures the speed at the end of the 1/4 mile not the average speed throught the traps. That could explain the differences you are experiencing.
