Power Steering Rebuild Kit
I need to rebuild my P/S. The car wanders and it looks like it's the valve. The kits come with 4 new hoses and new or rebuilt valve & ram. Should I replace the pitman arm, it would seem good. Also I'm leaning towards rebuilt. Zip has the lowest price or is VanSteel or VBP better?

Re: Power Steering Rebuild Kit (mvftw)
It's a good idea to replace the hoses if they are original. As for the Valve, I did both, rebuilt and replaced. I rebuilt my old valve with a kit from Zip and had nothing but problems. The instructions were crap. I bought a new valve and it works perfectly. I also rebuilt my original pump. Very easy to do. Now it doesnt leak a drop.
As for play in your steering, check the rag joint, idler arm and pitman arm. A bad idler arm is a most overlooked problem.

Re: Power Steering Rebuild Kit (mvftw)
Have purchased both rebuilt and new control valves from Zip Products.
The new valve started to leak a little over a year later (only drove
the car about 1000 miles). Called Zip and they were nice
enough to replace it under warranty. Asked them if they
have had others with problems and they said they have
more trouble with the new than rebuilt ones.
Exchanged it for a rebuilt unit which has been leak
free for over a year.
Have also been very pleased with the speed that Zip has always
refunded core charges.
