I have a C3 ? from a C4 guy
Hey guys..
I have a buddy looking to put a 94 LT1 C4 motor into a C3 (not sure what year) and he was asking me if you could decompute the motor and set it up like the older L82 and L48 motors (mainly the ign. system and intake) Has any one here done it or know some one who has? If so what would you have to do? Thanks guys

Doing that eliminates a lot of the advantage of swapping that motor in (fuel economy, good starting, idle quality, and driveability). Why would he want to do that? There are lots of old carbed motors that can make 300 net HP. The cool thing about the LT1 is that you can make 300 net HP and still get over 20 MPG, it starts right up and idles nice, and behaves very well. You should look up Vettedan and check out his setup. He swapped in the whole LT1/computer setup in his C3. It looks very clean, and you still get all of the benefits of having modern technology.

He was going to do it because he found one that did not have the intake and wires or any of that stuff. But it turns out it was not what the guy told him it was, it was a cast block so I kow it's not out of a 94 vett.. Thanks for the help. He's going a different way.. :seeya

All blocks are cast. (how else do you make a block) I think you mean the crankshaft. If it does not have the FI, don't bother swapping it in.

No I ment it was a cast iron block and not an aluminum (cast) block... It must have been out of a cop car or an F body.. Oh well he picked up a nice 350 4 bolt so it's all good.. :seeya
