What Wheels look best on a 69 big block??
What wheels would you reccomend putting on a 69 big block that is daytona yellow?? It currently has 70's style cragers that need to go. Should I go back to stock if so where do I get a set??

I've always really liked the look of the original rallies, as in my sig pic.

I agree, now where can I find a set just like yours. Are those the originals or repos? Is there a difference in the value of the car once they are on. (repos vs. original) Where can I find both?? Thanks

everyone has TT2's and those Cragars as they do look good, but go for something unique within the 5-spoke, low backspace look.
that said, rallies always do look just right

I have a set of four late 68 dated ralley wheels, they are beaded, epoxy primed and painted argent silver, correct for 69.
Let me know if you want pics etc
Thanks

I agree with JB, steel bumper cars look best with Ralleys. My choice is the modern 17" Chrome Ralley from Wheel Vintiques. Zwede used to have some on his BB car, but replaced them with American Racing TT3s (I think) Terry Rudy also has them on his 77, they look great, here's a picture from his website of his 77.
Here's a link to his info on getting them and a couple of pictures on the bare wheels. http://www.bokonon.net/corvette/newwv.html
I am lusting after a set myself, but I have other more pressing priorities to do on my car. I'll get them eventually.

Another option would be Rallie wheels painted the color of the car, with the chrome rings and center cap.

You will want to try to find original rallys if possible, Nova's would have been 14X7, 68 Corvette was 15X7 and in 69 they went to 15X8 so there is a big difference between what is correct and what will work. My experience with the repro's is that the factory rings will not work on them because of the way they are made (difficult to explain but trust me) the repro rings work on them and on originals as well. Those e-bay guys think they have gold and ask too much for them. If you keep a sharp eye out at swap meets, classified ads ect. you can still find them for a reasonable price. A 69 Big Block is a torque monster and a solid steel wheel is your best bet, besides they look good too.

I agree with everyone that says the original (or repro) Rallye wheels look really good. That being said, I replaced mine with 17" billet Boyd wheels. I wanted a wider tire and a peformance, Z-rated, tire ... which is more readily available in a 17" tire... not to mention the car handles significantly better. :)

Edelbrock has quit making the 409's. My wife did a lot of calling and found a set for the 72. xtremetna.com was the only place that would help locate a set. Wanted 17's but had to get 16's. These guys are great to deal with.
