I put a new water pump on my car.
Part of my Carlisle trip this year was to get a chrome water pump and chrome AC compressor. Well Saturday I decided to change out the pump. All I can say is that beotch fought me every step of the way. The bolts wouldn't line up, the hoses wouldn't slip on, the gaskets wouldn't stick and I lost a lot of religion. I finally finished it Sunday and today I filled it with anti-freeze. I started it up and there were no leaks (thank you God) and so I figured I'd take it out for a spin to make sure it didn't overheat. By the time I hit 4500 rpm in second gear with the Ultraflows singing all was forgiven. Damn she's runnin' nice. Next on the list is the compressor and then it's on to the front suspension.

I've found working on my Vette a very religeous experience. The on going battle between good and evil.Hammer on stuck bolts, say a prayer and viola, bolt breaks so you can put on a new one.You see good always prevails over evil! :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash:

I think I'm OK now. I went to a christening Sunday and there was no lightning in the church when I walked in so I think I'm good. :hat

Hehe Mine took 2 weekends to do and at least 3 trips to the auto parts store. First time I had ever done it on any car!

I had some trouble with mine but got there in the end. When I saw that the new pump didn't have the studs, I thought I would have real trouble getting the old studs out to put in the new pump, but they came out easy, thank god. Still beats paying someone to do it, saves money and you get a sense of satisfaction and pride doing yourself.
